What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a legend?
Perhaps it’s Beowulf for the bookish, Michael Jackson for music fans, or Solid Snake for gamers.
Or perhaps you’ll think of a handsome fellow like me, The Dark Legend.
Jokes aside, you’d be right! They are all legends within their world, but what truly forges one?
If you were to look up the definition of “legend” on Merriam-Webster, they say:

Legends are forms of tales or literature that take some grain of truth within a certain context and create a mythology that is passed down and carried throughout time and future generations.
Some legends can be inspirational, motivational, or call forth that inner enthusiasm. They bring out the spirit, the conscience, the self, or whatever the hell you want to call it to drive you forward in life and to ascend unto the stars and beyond!
That is why, when I think of legends, I think of Chuck Norris!

Chuck Norris sadly passed away on March 19th, 2026, and many Americans, myself included, are mourning his death or celebrating his life.
Hell, some say that Chuck Norris didn’t die, he just merely met the Grim Reaper and took his job.
And yes, we’ll get to the facts about Chuck Norris later on.
At age 86 in Kauai, Hawaii, Chuck was rushed to the hospital with medical complications. His family later posted it on Instagram:
“It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace. To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength. To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family.”
Like my grandmother (rest in peace, Grandma Nieves, you will always be remembered!), Chuck Norris, with a strong will, fought with death until the very end. No doubt death itself had a near-Chuck-Norris experience.
Although the legend is gone and has ascended into a higher dimension of being, he’s left a crater of memory that has impacted our culture and society.
Undoubtedly, he’s sparring with St. Michael and having a revenge round with Bruce Lee, another legend, but it’s important to know how Chuck Norris came to be THE Chuck Norris, and how he left such a memorable legacy for young men like me. That’s not to exclude that the ladies can also kick ass too.
And you know me:
