The 40 Day Trial and Tribulation is a self-help guide on fasting for 40 days. This is based off my experiences when I began my 40 day fasting in 2024, during Lent. In this non-fiction work, I go over the health benefits of fasting and how to approach it.
The book is still being written and it’s my biggest challenge yet as I’m not used to non-fiction writing. In this intro, I go over the challenges America faces when it comes to nutrition and try to establish credibility with the research I have done. I make out points how the lock-downs have changed everything about our lifestyle and how media, government, corporations, and institutions have lost their credibility to the point where Americans have no idea who or what to believe in.

In our fast-forward culture, we have lost the art of eating well. Food is often little more than fuel to pour down the hatch while doing other stuff – surfing the Web, driving, walking along the street. Dining al desko is now the norm in many workplaces. All of this speed takes a toll. Obesity, eating disorders and poor nutrition are rife.

Now we begin the more brutal and solemn parts of this book that reveals a dark and misconceived truth about our health that has taken place for the past decade. Additionally, we as a nation have made mistakes that has contributed to this problem in nutrition. It’s the reason why we’re overweight, depressed, moody, anxious, neurotic, and deprived of all sense of spirituality or long-term benefits based on our short-term gratification. It’s here where I will try to make my thesis and debate how the subjects of science, health, culture, nutrition, livelihood, psychology, and spirituality are all connected. I may not be perfect at it or be the best debater, but I will give it a shot to make you, the reader, understand where it is I’m coming from and why I care.
This portion will be the most academic or will try to be the most academic as I will do my best to cite references and sources for you to look into to establish the credibility where I am coming from. See the reference pages for details. Nevertheless, I will keep my personality in here to give some levity and humor and to make it easier for you to stick with me.
I will begin by bringing up the nature of our reality that has to do with our health as Americans. We live in a time where everything is, unfortunately, politicized and our culture is cleaved into an unhealthy division of ideologies. This, unfortunately, has to be said due to the nature and outlook of how we Americans see health in the year 2025 and how we have been looking at it beforehand, reaching all the way to the beginning of the 20th century.
In this era, the average American has lost confidence and distrusts the media, the government, and even the medical institutions and pharmaceutical companies after the pandemic of 2020, and, unfortunately, they are completely justified in having such perceptions of these institutions, ESPECIALLY after the COVID Lockdowns.1 As a veteran who was in the services during this ridiculous time, I can attest to the outrageous nature of how this was going about, and it was inconceivable that we, THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, were going in these insane directions during the lockdowns and then to hear more of these “experts” pontificate on The Science™. I mean for God sakes, they first told us not to wear mask until they FORCED us to wear masks regardless of the fact N95 masks barely did anything to stop the spread of COVID, kept changing the definition of “vaccine,” and practically censored or shut down anyone who questioned or tried to converse about the virus, the vaccines, the procedures, and symptoms all for the sake to prevent “misinformation.2 And it certainly didn’t help build trust with the American people when leaders like Newsome, Pelosi, Bowser, and Lightfoot violated lockdown protocols while we had to stay lockdown.3 Obviously, the words “experts,” “leadership,” and “trust” started lose it’s sense of definition with these outrageous malpractices. How can you blame them when you ask one simple question only to be shut down and called a “conspiracy theorist” or a “spreader of misinformation.” Clearly, it did no favors to earn the trust of the American people.
If you have the stomach and heart to read about some of these abuses and protocol malpractices in the name of “science,” there’s a book by Peter Schweizer called Blood Money: Why the Powerful Turn a Blind Eye While China Kills Americans that I recommend. Towards the end of it (Part IV: LOOT A BURNING HOUSE), Mr. Schweizer points out all the malevolent and deliberate misconduct the medical and federal institutions decided to commit and exacerbate the pandemic which fell in line with the agendas of the CCP (Schweizer, p. 159-198).4 Have a bottle of whisky nearby while you’re reading this because, believe me, it’s sobering. But maybe not while you’re trying to fast.
As for the skepticism of pharmacies and their links with COVID vaccines, there’s an article on PatriotPost.us by Thomas Gallatin who has written about suspiciously redacted royalties from pharmaceutical companies that suggest a scandalous link with Anthony Fauci (NIAID) and Francis Collins (NIH) during the Pandemic.5 Further citations of his sources are in the web page as well.
Did I mention I don’t want to make this political? Look, I’m not here to preach to the right or to the left about politics and I don’t want to. As stated, we’re already living in a divisive environment and it does me no good to further divide my audience. The point is our country has lost faith with the institutions and does not know who or what to believe or trust. It’s one of the reasons why I’m writing this chapter; to make you understand the state of the world and hopefully catch a glimpse of the unconscious we carry as a population.
