You know, I consider myself a masculine man. I enjoy working out, I like firearms, I like to drink with friends, eat a juicy steak, and I love the company of women.
I also love books, movies, video games, and anime that have a masculine archetype; someone I can look up to. Not a perfect man, but a flawed man who tries to do the right thing in life.
I try my best to maintain that masculine spirit. I may falter from time to time, but I always try to be that manly man.
But every once in a while… I run into something… very cute.
And I cannot help but adore it.
Whether it’s a kitten, a puppy, a bunny, or a duckling, I cannot help but feel adoration for the little creatures.
Not exactly what you’d imagine from a guy who looks up to the ultimate badasses in movies, games, or books. But it’s something I do.
Why do I bring this up?
Because something new has come across my path on the internet that has gripped my attention and adoration.
I am, of course, talking about… Speaki.
“Who is Speaki?” you ask.
“I’ll show you who is Speaki.”
This is Speaki.
Speaki is a meme that just recently appeared on my feeds. I don’t know why this little, cute, chibi munchkin just popped up out of nowhere.
I wasn’t sure what to make of this cute, little character at first, but her adorability sold me. The more videos and memes I saw of her, the more I just loved her.

There’s something about her design that’s just so cute, so fragile, and so precious that it melts the heart. You cannot help but want to protect and pet her head.
I know, I know, it’s a meme! But I cannot help it! IT’S SO CUTE!
The thing that kills me the most is that a lot of these memes feature Speaki in a situation that puts a lot of pressure, stress, or anxiety, which makes me want to protect her even more!

The more I kept looking, the more I saw memes of li’l Speaki in stressful or uncomfortable predicaments that made her distraught. And I noticed a pattern when I looked at the YouTube comments that would cry out what I was thinking.
“DO NOT BULLY SPEAKI!”
“She was doing her best… poor thing.”
“This part broke me… when she was looking around very anxious and worried.”
“Poor Speaki don’t bully her, she doing her best.”
There are many comments like these in videos where Speaki is having a rough time.
The irony is that’s where she gets a lot of love from the internet.
Psychologically, we humans are designed to have empathy for those who struggle when we see them genuinely trying their best in a situation that doesn’t favor them. And to see that happen to a cute, innocent character like Speaki, that sky-rockets our empathy to an 11.

It’s really weird, I know. But there’s some sort of cute, wholesome charm to it all that earns a lot of love from individuals all across the internet.
It came to a point where I had to ask myself, “Who is this Speaki? What is this Speaki? Why is this Speaki?”
So I got on my trusty PC and did a deep dive on the internet, where I committed countless hours of analysis, research, and data cross examination to decode the obscure origins of this cute little species, known as… The Speakibus Memealus… meaning I just got on YouTube and watched a few vids.
Turns out there’s actually a fascinating story behind Speaki. Because you see, Speaki… was not meant to exist. And the story behind that is one of resilience and inspiration.
